My favourite photoshoot locations in the Waikato...

I am always happy to find new locations to photograph at in the Waikato. After more than 7 years photographing couples and families I still have new places to explore! If there is somewhere a little different you want to go to for your photoshoot, then I am definitely keen! Having said that, here are some of my tried and true spots which always work well!

Taitua Arboretum

This hidden gem is only 5 minutes from Dinsdale. Beautiful walkways and so many different spots to use for photos. Amazing in autumn and spring especially. Gravel pathways so heels aren't a good idea. Lots of chickens running around in the carpark which kids always enjoy. Dogs are welcome too!

Woodlands Estate

I am fortunate enough to be allowed access to the grounds for photoshoots at no charge. If you’d like to go inside the estate there is a fee of $50.

Hamilton Gardens

A local icon. Beautiful gardens and lots of variety. Sheltered spots if the weather is questionable. Can be busy at times, but its easy enough to work around other visitors. Paid entry, see their website for info. Accessible for wheelchairs.

Raglan

Raglan is amazing for shoots later in the day. Incredible for sunset shoots. There's so many different spots there, some more easily accessible than others. Ngarunui Beach has the big rock formations, Te Toto Gorge has great lookout, The beach off Riria Kereopa Memorial Drive is easily accessible.

Lake Hakanoa - Green Cathedral

A beautiful reserve overlooking Lake Hakanoa in Huntly. Accessible for wheelchairs and easy to walk around.

Private Properties

These images have been taken at a range of private properties around Waikato. It can be really nice to have your family photos taken in your home. Do you know someone who has a farm with a nice section of paddocks or trees? Do you have a nice view from your home?
